Espoo has 58 kilometres of shoreline and 95 lakes. There are 11 beaches by the sea and 10 beaches by a lake. Seven of the beaches have supervision. The beaches are cleaned daily. Two summer workers tour and clean unsupervised beaches. Dogs may swim at the Laajalahti beach when the birds in the area are not nesting or feeding, as well as at the marked swimming place between Toppelund and Haukilahti. All beaches have a WC/dry toilet.
